2. Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted through Sliplane on a server located in Germany. When you access the site, technically necessary connection data is processed. This may include your IP address, the time of the request, the requested address, referrer, browser or device information, and the HTTP status.
This processing is necessary to provide the website securely, reliably, and without errors. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of this website. Under the current setup, Sliplane retains service logs for up to seven days and a maximum of 15,000 log lines.
Our processor is Sliplane, Lukas Mauser, Freienwalder Str. 3, 13359 Berlin, Germany.
3. Audience measurement with PostHog
We use PostHog Cloud EU to understand page views, language choice, broad traffic sources, reading depth, and categories of outbound links. Technical information such as the requested page, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, and time may be processed. Our custom events do not store the full destination addresses of outbound links.
PostHog is configured in Cookieless Server Hash Mode. The analytics setup does not set cookies or use local or session storage. The IP address is used server-side only to produce a rotating hash and is discarded before further processing. Person profiles, autocapture, and session replay are disabled. Requests first pass through a technical relay path on micmayer.com and are then forwarded to PostHog.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to understand the reach and usability of this blog with limited data and to improve its content. We review whether analytics data is still required after no more than twelve months and delete it when the purpose of processing no longer applies.
The recipient is PostHog, Inc. and its affiliates. This project uses PostHog's EU Cloud, for which customer data is stored in Germany according to the provider. As PostHog is a US company, processing outside the European Economic Area cannot be ruled out entirely. PostHog identifies the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses as relevant transfer mechanisms.
4. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as it is needed for the relevant purpose or required by law. Server logs are kept for the short period described above. We review the necessity of PostHog data after no more than twelve months. As PostHog does not document an automatic project-specific retention period for ordinary analytics events, the corresponding review and deletion procedure is documented separately.
5. Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability. You may also object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. To exercise these rights, contact info@micmayer.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority includes the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg, Heilbronner Straße 35, 70191 Stuttgart, Germany, poststelle@lfdi.bwl.de.
6. Changes
We will update this notice if the website, the services used, or applicable legal requirements change.
